Synaptics, a company that is truly engineering exceptional experiences in the home, at work and on the go, has appointed Lien Nguyen as Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and Whitney Berryman as Senior Director, Global HRBP. Synaptics partnered with Frederickson Partners on the executive searches.
In their roles, Nguyen and Berryman will lead the HRBP function and be responsible for strengthening the company’s existing performance and talent management framework, in addition to introducing new ways to elevate employee engagement, career development and recognition. They will focus on developing innovative strategies, tools and processes that enable Synaptics’ employees’ success, while driving initiatives that enable engaging careers.
Nguyen joins Synaptics from Pentagon Technologies where she served as Vice President of HR. There, as part of Pentagon’s executive management team, Nguyen provided HR partnering and coaching during a critical period of high growth. She was responsible for the overall HR direction and people strategy for Pentagon, with the objective of creating and implementing foundational as well as best people practices. Prior to Pentagon Technologies, Nguyen worked at Infinera as an HR Consultant. Nguyen’s earlier positions include Senior Director of Global HR Services at Lumentum and HRBP Director of Global Shared Services at JDS Uniphase. Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on HR from San Jose State University and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
Berryman joins Synaptics from Western Digital Corporation, where she served as Senior Director of Global HR. There, she led a team of four Senior HRBPs and two Generalists and led the HR component of acquisitions, integrations, and divestures also including organizational design and effectiveness. Berryman designed and facilitated team effectiveness and objective-setting sessions. She also transformed the service delivery model for the HRBP function. Previously, Berryman worked at Applied Materials Inc. as the Director of Global HR. Her past positions include Director of HR at Maxtor/Quantum Corporation. Berryman holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She has a Senior Professional in HR (SPHR) certification and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and a Global Remuneration Professional (GRP).
