Rakuten, the largest ecommerce company in Japan and a global ecommerce marketplace, has appointed A.J. Figliolini as Head of Global Total Rewards (TR). Rakuten partnered with Frederickson Partners on the executive search.
In his role as Head of Global Total Rewards, A.J. will be responsible for delivering the long-term TR strategy and framework that will attract, motivate, and engage Rakuten’s talent. He will report to the Head of Global HR, Andrew Dugdall-Marshall.
A.J. joins Rakuten from Riot Games, where he served as Director, Global Compensation. There he led the global compensation function for a gaming and entertainment company. Previously he was the Director of Global Total Rewards for Discord. Figliolini has also served in various leadership roles at TikTok, Nordstrom, Amazon, and Microsoft. He holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Industrial Relations from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University.
