Amyris, a biotechnology company working in the research, development and production of sustainable ingredients for the Clean Health & Beauty and Flavor & Fragrances markets, has appointed Susan Handler as Vice President (VP) of Global Total Rewards (TR). Amyris worked with Frederickson Partners on the executive search.
As Amyris’ new VP of Global TR, Susan will lead the company’s TR philosophy and strategies by designing, implementing, communicating and administrating Amyris’ compensation, benefits and recognition programs. She will oversee and identify new, scalable human resources (HR) systems to support growth across the global business. Reporting to the company’s Chief People Officer, Christine Ofori, Susan will also partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner teams to advise and influence on competitive and equitable compensation practices.
Susan brings over 20 years of HR experience within the TR function to Amyris. Throughout her career she has held positions leading, developing and innovating cash compensation, benefit, equity, mobility and HRIS programs and functions in e-Commerce, Technology, Investment Banking and Consulting as well as the Non-Profit sectors. For the past 12 years Susan has worked as a Global TR Consultant, with clients including Amazon, GoDaddy, PATH, Orbitz and Etsy. Earlier in her career, she held TR roles at Microsoft Corporation, Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) and at non-profit organization Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Susan holds a degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
