Richard Butts has spent the past decade as a senior Human Resources (HR) Advisor, following 35 years of HR executive-level experience including internal executive HR roles at Caliper Life Sciences, Macromedia, Micro Focus, Verigy and Virage Logic. Richard joined Frederickson Partners in 2011 and is a Senior HR Advisor consulting with organizations ranging from pre-IPO startups to global public high-tech and life science firms. Richard’s domain expertise includes HR strategy and road maps, compensation, benefits, board/compensation committee relations, talent management, leadership development, talent acquisition and retention, employment branding, mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs and divestitures, and pre- and post-IPO regulation. Richard’s global reach spans the Americas, EMEA, APAC and Central Asian regions.
Richard holds a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from San Jose State University and an SPHR certification. Richard and his wife live in San Carlos, CA and have two grown daughters. An avid sailor, Richard regularly races his J/105 on San Francisco Bay.
