Not Lying on a Beach? Why I’m Busier than Ever in August 2022
In the heat of summer, I always spend time vacationing with my kids in water, on a river or lake or by the ocean. While we’ve had awesome vacation time this year at Lake Shasta and Lake Tahoe, I find that rather than kicking back -- or retiring, a speculation I heard third hand after Frederickson joined Gallagher that couldn’t be farther from the truth -- I’m not only swamped but as inspired as I’ve ever been in my 25+ year career by what’s next for Frederickson Partners and all of you.

With unemployment recently reported at its lowest point in 50 years, companies continue to feel an acute need for hiring talent across the organization, including superb leaders. We’re announcing a service we’ve been doing some time but haven’t formally communicated: providing executive search beyond human resources (HR). This brings us back to our roots, when our search practice started in 1997, providing a range of C-suite searches. See more about that below and contact us to learn what we're doing. I look forward to speaking soon! And meanwhile, please send me your photos from the beach.

SHRM Taps Frederickson for Insights
In August, journalist Roy Maurer of SHRM reported on how to approach rescinding a job offer when necessary – a rare situation and “blip in the landscape” as he clarifies. Roy interviewed Frederickson Partners on how HR can address these cases.
Per Founder and CEO Valerie Frederickson, rescinding offers is rare: “Most companies match requisition approvals with budget forecasts in real time and stay the course even during market fluctuations.” For those exceptions, the article outlines best practices HR can follow to act proactively and with care. LETTER FROM VALERIE |

Valerie Frederickson
Founder & CEO

Why We’re Expanding Our C-suite Executive Search Services
Our clients are excited this month to learn that our executive search practice has extended beyond HR executive roles.
This expansion hearkens back to 1997, when we started our search practice doing CEO, CFO and supply chain searches. With recent growth we have added generalist search executives to our team, with significant portfolios of all types of executive roles.
As organizations have struggled recently with an extremely competitive hiring market –- fueled partly by a “Great Reshuffle” that continues today and is expected to persist into the foreseeable future –- it’s essential to have stellar leaders across an organization, to thrive in this new marketplace.
Through our amazingly successful and generally awesome executive search consultants, with decades of experience placing executives in a wide range of board and C-level roles, and our partnership with other Gallagher teams, we now match organizations with executive roles for a broad range of functions, including:
- Top leadership and board of directors – CEO and board members
- Operations – Chief Operating Officer (COO)
- Finance – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
- Sales, Go-To-Market, Marketing and Communications – Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
- Legal – Chief Legal Officer (CLO), General Counsel (GC)
- Information Technology – Chief Information Officer (CIO)
- People/Human Resources – Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Chief People Officer (CPO)
- We also recruit Vice-President roles in all these divisions, and in critical areas such as Facilities, Engineering, Product Development and Product Management.
How about your business? As we see continued job growth, alongside high turnover and an acute need for talent, how is your organization impacted and where could executive leadership make a critical difference? We’d love to hear from you.
