Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is a 67-year-old, private electrical engineering and construction company headquartered in San Jose, Calif. that delivers large, complex projects for commercial, energy and data center customers. Whether through design, procurement, construction or installation, CEI delivers power and possibilities to some of the most respected organizations in the world.

 
 

We partnered with CEI to hire Estrella Parker as Chief People Officer. In the role, Parker will report to the President and CEO, and educate and advise business leaders in different areas of the organization. As Chief People Officer, Parker will have responsibility for up-leveling and driving the talent management strategy across the $1.4 billion company.

Parker joins CEI from Satellite Healthcare, after serving as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for more than 5 years. Previously, she worked at The Clorox Company as Senior Director Human Resources in the Global Business Partnership and HR Global Solutions divisions over a 10-year period, at Kaiser Permanente as Vice President, HR and at Prudential Insurance as Director, Strategic Change and HR. Parker earned an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines.

PEOPLE/HR SEARCH – ACTIVECAMPAIGN

ActiveCampaign is a category-defining Customer Experience Automation (CXA) platform that helps over 145,000 businesses in 170 countries meaningfully engage with their customers. The platform gives businesses of all sizes access to over 500 pre-built automations that combine email marketing, marketing automation and CRM for powerful segmentation and personalization across social, email, messaging, chat and text.

 
 

We worked with ActiveCampaign to place Anthony Papini as Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). In the role Papini will lead the company’s transformative commitment and action to support DEI. Papini will drive a strategic vision for elevating DEI throughout the organization, as well as developing tactical and programmatic initiatives that make a daily impact.

Papini brings to the organization 17 years of diversity and inclusion strategy and management experience. Most recently he served as Director of D&I at Jamf, and prior to that was at Microsoft for four years, serving as Senior Manager, Global D&I. Earlier leadership roles included serving as Executive Director at Illinois State Schools Alliance; Director, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, LGBTQA Resource Center, Northeastern Illinois University; and Education Program Officer at the Pride Foundation. Papini earned an M.A. at Bowling Green State University, and a B.A. at Western Washington University.

  HR MOVES AND PROMOTIONS  
 

  • ServiceNow announced the appointment of Jacqui Canney as the company’s new Chief People Officer. Canney joins ServiceNow from WPP, where she served as Global Chief People Officer. Prior to WPP, she was Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer at Walmart and built a 25-year career at Accenture where she held different HR roles, the last one being Senior Executive, Global HR.   • Kyndry | IBM has named Maryjo Charbonnier as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. Charbonnier brings extensive HR expertise, most recently having served as CHRO at Wolters Kluwer. Previously she was CHRO at Broadridge and Vice President HR for PepsiCo, where she served for 13 years. (Announcement)
  • Talkdesk announces Laura Butler as the company’s first Chief Human Resources Officer. Butler brings an outstanding HR career, having recently worked at Workfront (an Adobe company) as Senior Vice President of People and Culture. Some other companies where she has hold HR roles include Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Oracle/Taleo, TeleTech and others. Butler currently sits on the Board of Directors of WorkForce.   • DataRobot, Inc. welcomes Elise Leung Cole as its first Chief People Officer. Cole joins from Cisco where she served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel developing people and culture programs. Prior to Cisco, she was General Counsel for AppDynamics where she established the company’s DEI function. (Announcement)
  • Americares has announced Elana Lopez as Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer. Lopez brings over a decade of experience in the social impact sector, with her most recent role as CPO for Change.org. Other organizations Lopez has been part of include Avaaz, Tzedek Chicago and YWCA, among others. (Announcement)
  • Aura has welcomed Sofia Kaufman as the company’s Chief People Officer. Prior to Aura, Kaufman served as Chief People Officer at Zerto and Intralinks. Her experience includes HR Leader for TripAdvisor, HR Consultant at AOL, and other HR roles at Dassault Systemes, Genzyne and Lawrence Associates. (Announcement)
  • PointsBet appoints Rachelle Carpenter as its Chief People Officer. Carpenter joins PointsBet after 10 years with Fortune 200 company DISH Network, where she served in different executive HR roles. Prior to that she worked at Workforce Strategies Inc., and at General Electric for six years. (Article)
  • One Concern announced the appointment of Nicolette Quispe as Chief People Officer. Quispe brings over 20 years of people and culture experience, having recently served as Vice President, People Operations and Interim CPO for LegalZoom, where she built a 14-year career. Prior to LegalZoom she worked at Yahoo. (Announcement)
  • New Directions Behavioral Health has named Lynn Merritt as its Chief People Officer. Merritt brings over 15 years of HR experience in the healthcare industry. She previously served as CHRO for Healogics, Inc. Other companies she has worked with include Aetna, Cigna, and The Hartford. (Announcement)
  • Henny Penny has appointed Suzanne Birsa as the company’s Chief People Officer. Birsa joins with over 25 years of HR experience, having recently served as Vice President of Human Resources at Focal Point, LLC. She has also held executive HR roles at companies including McDonald’s Corporation, True North HR Consulting, Conagra Brands and Johnson & Johnson. (Announcement)
