Maze Therapeutics, a biotechnology company translating genetic insights into new precision medicines, has appointed Marian Gamboa as Human Resources Director. Maze worked with Frederickson Partners on the executive search.
Marian brings over 15 years of experience in HR to Maze Therapeutics, joining from Gilead Sciences, where she served as Global Learning Lead and previously as Associate Director, Inclusion and Diversity.
Maze Therapeutics is focused on translating genetic insights into new precision medicines for rare diseases and mechanistically defined subsets of common diseases. Maze has developed the COMPASS platform, a proprietary, purpose-built platform that combines human genetic data, functional genomic tools and data science technology to map novel connections between known genes and their influence on susceptibility, timing of onset and rate of disease progression. Using COMPASS, Maze is building a broad portfolio, including wholly owned programs targeting Pompe disease, chronic kidney disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as partnered programs in cardiovascular and ophthalmic diseases. Maze is based in South San Francisco.
As Human Resources (HR) Director, Marian will work cross-functionally with teams across the business to drive strategic and effective HR initiatives. She will partner with HR colleagues and senior leadership to address organizational challenges and implement strategies for the company including talent planning, talent assessment and team building. Marian will report to Senior Vice President of HR Matt Krause, and act as an executive advisor to help the company continue to develop and retain its excellent workforce and leadership.
